Trade Market 2026 records strong growth in Nelson Mandela Bay

The second Africa Coastal Marine & Maritime Tourism Trade Market welcomed 700 delegates over three days, recorded 51% exhibitor growth and generated a reported R1.75 million in direct economic spend.

Hosted from 18–20 March 2026 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, the programme brought together government, destinations, tourism authorities, private operators, SMEs, academic institutions and young people. A dedicated Career Day connected learners, unemployed youth and students with opportunities across tourism and maritime sectors.

Inaugural Trade Market establishes a continental tourism platform

The 2025 launch brought 367 delegates and 40 exhibitors to Nelson Mandela Bay, demonstrating the potential of coastal and marine tourism to support inclusive economic development.

Held from 14–16 April 2025 at the Tramways Building, the inaugural programme combined exhibitions, sector discussions, networking and a golf day. The report records an estimated R2.3 million in direct spend and participation from tourism stakeholders across South Africa and East Africa.
